Company Background
Wayfare was founded in 2002 as a division at GeoPassage Corporation, a premier provider of custom and specialty tours to over 100 countries worldwide. To power its industry-leading custom tour capabilities, GeoPassage developed a powerful, proprietary configuration and contextual merchandising platform. Wayfare took advantage of this contextual merchandising platform to serve highly contextual, dynamic merchandising widgets for premier media and content sites such as A&E Television, The History Channel, and The Economist magazine.
In 2008, Wayfare took its contextual merchandising platform and adapted (simplified!) it for contextual, deep-linked advertising. Integrating into this platform a state-of-the-art ad serving module has enabled Wayfare to serve up the best monetizing Ad/Lead widgets and, where applicable, booking widgets in the industry.
The core algorithms and technology that GeoPassage, and now Wayfare, utilize are developed and supported by a world class technical team, including senior managerial and technical expertise from companies such as Microsoft, IBM, Capital One, i2 (a leading supply chain optimization vendor), and Trilogy (a leading configuration and pricing vendor). The team is complemented by industry and marketing expertise from companies such as Hearst and Disney.
Wayfare Interactive, Inc. is a privately held company based in Austin, Texas.
